News Coverage: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Date: Sep. 9, 2014

Art of the Title

"Sarofsky’s minimalist main-on-end titles for Captain America: The Winter Soldier exemplify the newfound function of the end credits. Perfectly distilling the essence of the Russo brothers’ action-packed potboiler, the sequence plays up familiar superhero iconography and pares down the themes and characters to their most basic elements. Stars and stripes, shields and skulls, gears and tentacles, a grand conspiracy unfolding as heroes and villains battle it out in silhouette. Given the morally complex and uncertain world in which the film operates, the stark black, white, and red palette of the sequence provides an unexpected, contrasting backdrop." Read on

News Coverage: Sarofsky Corp. honored for "Girl Rising" film promotions

Date: Sep. 2, 2014

Communication Arts 2014 Design Annual

The acclaimed 2013 film "Girl Rising" produced and directed by Richard E. Robbins made headlines worldwide for its innovative storytelling and its vital subject: the power of educating girls. Part fiction and part documentary, the film screened in hundreds of theaters around the country and at the World Bank, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the White House... telling the stories of nine unforgettable girls struggling for an education. According to the editors of Communication Arts, the 3,632 entries into this year's design competition reflect the continued reduction in submissions for traditional print categories such as brochures, catalogs and business papers, and increases in the number of integrated branding programs, motion-based entries and international participation. Sarofky Corp. is very proud to have been selected for its promotional interstitials for "Girl Rising."

Happening: Brewster Parsons profiled in SourceEcreative feature on Diversity

Woman-Owned Status Helps VFX Studio Brewster Parsons Shift Gears

SourceEcreative's Anthony Vagnoni writes, "...in some ways Brewster Parsons feels kind of like adland's best-kept secret. Compact – purposely so – yet intensely focused on the work, they don't get the headlines other L.A.-based effects shops get, but that's likely to change. Working hand-in-hand with recently-hired EP Sybil McCarthy – a veteran of 20 years on the agency production side – the company has embarked on a new mission to raise its profile and expand its client base. A big part of this is leveraging its WBENC status more aggressively. So far, Parsons says, it's opened doors for them, but landing jobs is still more dependent 'on whether your work is in alignment with what the creative demands, and if the agency is comfortable with your methodology and your price. Having the diversity status may make them look at you more closely, but there's no guarantee you'll get the work.'"
