Christopher Elliott Joins Creative Production Studio Flavor as Finishing/VFX Editor

CHICAGO - Feb. 20, 2014 - The leaders from creative production studio Flavor are very proud to announce the addition of Christopher Elliott to their staff in the position of finishing/VFX editor. The appointment is effective immediately.

Elliott joins Flavor from Utopic, where he was director of finishing. Prior to that, he held staff positions with Red Car/Chicago and Optimus. "I am very excited to join the team at Flavor," Elliott began. "Each of their staff artists have outstanding reputations for being on the leading edge of compositing and finishing. I first met Flavor creative director Brian Higgins several years ago, and he is yet another artist I truly admire. As a group, Flavor has excellent designers and finishers who work very closely together, and the end product is always top-notch."

Over the past several years, Elliott has contributed his talents to a long list of top-tier commercial projects for leading brands, agencies, directors and production companies. Among those are the Esurance spot that debuted during the 2014 Super Bowl, as well as McDonald's 2013 Super Bowl spots and others for Anheuser-Busch, Jeep, Miller Lite, Nintendo and Reese's, to name but a few. His documentary "The River to River Run" was honored by The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences College Awards for Best Documentary, and the animated short "Stubble Trouble" he edited for Calabash Animation was nominated for the Best Animated Short Oscar in 2001. His documentary credits also include the National Endowment for the Arts' Big Read Series.

A graduate of Southern Illinois University, Elliott started editing music videos while still in high school, and established himself as a professional editor even before he could drive. His early work experience also includes cutting local commercials and on-air promotions for PBS station WSIU.

"We set out to find someone with considerable post-production finishing experience who could handle the high-end VFX and compositing side of things," said Flavor's executive producer Neal Cohen. "We also wanted someone who knew our clients and could hit the ground running here in the Chicago market. We got extremely lucky with Chris: After a nationwide search, he was the only person we found who met each of these requirements. The fact that he is also an incredibly engaging and personable guy is a great bonus."

"I can tell you first-hand that there aren't many people in town who can do what Chris does," added Flavor creative director Brian Higgins. "He's an extremely talented artist with a great eye for detail and decades of experience in post-production at the very highest levels, so we all are super-excited to have him on board."
